This was our first time visiting La Catrina’s West Haven location, and we have to say we were very impressed! We had loved their food in Milford, and we found it was even more delicious here. We visited during their breakfast hours (Saturday & Sunday 8:30am-3pm), and it’s some of the most authentic and tastiest Mexican breakfast in the area. Stand out items were the lachera pancakes, ham and cheese omelette because of how flavorful it was, and the lamb Barbacoa. The drinks were fantastic, from the simple chocolate banana milkshake to cocktails lit on fire! Since we were there close to lunch, we also enjoyed their birria tacos and signature La Catrina meat and shrimp platter, both being delicious as well. Kind and attentive staff, and the murals were stunning on the wall. We will definitely be recommending this spot!

From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed. The atmosphere is vibrant, the decor is beautiful, and the food—absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavor and clearly made with love. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was the incredible service. Marcela was outstanding! She gave us the most amazing attention—warm, friendly, and so attentive to every detail. You can tell she genuinely cares about making sure guests have the best experience possible.

First time trying this restaurant. Service was great, nice and clean restaurant. Bathroom was clean. Food was delicious. Waitress was really helpful and her suggestions were on point.

What a wonderful experience! You are greeted with a delicious bowl of warm black bean dip and chips. Large menu with plenty of Mexican favorites along with burgers, steaks, chicken and pork chops and salad too. Service was impeccable! I had the carnitas taco and it honestly was the best taco I ever tasted and a side of refried beans. My dad and hubs had the el pastor taco dinner and they were very happy. My son had the quesadillas and he was satisfied as well. The staff surprised me with a piece of tres leches cake with a candle and a song. My family swore they did not tell them it was my birthday but they must have overheard us. So nice! I really appreciated that. The cake was amazing! Thank you La Catrina for making my birthday special!

My meal was super DELICIOUS! I had the steak and potatoes, the steak was made EXACTLY how I wanted it made potatoes were just the right amount of crispy! We also had the cheese quesadillas! Super good as well! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place! Will be returning!

03/09/2025. LaCatrina hits it out of the park AGAIN! Good food, good drinks, nice atmosphere, and attentive waitresses - what more could you ask for. Had steak enchiladas w green sauce. Nicely done.. wife had shrimp fajitas and came on a hot plate, sizzling. Excellent! A definite recommended place. 11/4/22. La Catrina hits it out of the park again! This place never fails to deliver a good meal at a decent price. I had a seafood soup.. LOADED with shrimp, mussels, clams calamari and octopus. Soup had some heat to it, although I did spice it up more with supplied red pepper flakes.. OUTSTANDING! CLEAN AND FRESH! Wife had her usual.. shrimp fajitas. Again, excellent. 07/23/2022 - La Catrina always delivers. This week, had nachos, enchiladas and a steak taco, wife had shrimp fajitas. Once again, food was excellent, service was great. Five stars! 06/18/22- STILL EXCELLENT. Service was good- food was excellent. Dining room was not busy- bar area appeared hopping! 2021- Excellent service.. even more important excellent food! Don't expect tex mex.. this is authentic Mexican food. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Just finished an incredible meal, and wow—this place is a must-visit! The food? Absolutely delicious and authentically fresh Mexican. But it doesn’t stop there—the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was just as amazing. If you’re looking for real, flavorful Mexican food, this is the spot! Can’t wait to come back!
